Character
Frank Rossitano
Frank Rossitano in 30 Rock (2006), played by Judah Friedlander.
Frank is a staff writer on TGS with Tracy Jordan, forever in a homemade trucker hat printed with some baffling slogan of his own devising. He's crude, lazy about anything that isn't a joke, and weirdly proud of his own strangeness — a guy who treats the writers' room like his natural habitat and everywhere else like a foreign country.
The writing hands him almost pure id — no filter, no shame, no interest in being liked — and Friedlander plays it completely deadpan, never winking at how absurd he is. The hats alone are a running gag that never needed dialogue, and Frank's total comfort with his own weirdness makes him one of the show's most reliable, low-effort laughs.
Francis "Frank" Rossitano is a fictional character played by Judah Friedlander on the television series 30 Rock. Despite his appearance in the opening credits, the character seems to have only a slightly bigger role than the other writers. Frank has appeared in every episode, though he didn't have any lines in the first season finale "Hiatus".
