Frank Murphy

Frank Murphy is a war veteran and family man in early-1970s suburbia, grinding through days at an airline baggage job he hates after losing his shot at management. He's short-fused, foul-mouthed, and exhausted, trying to keep his wife and three kids fed while the world seems designed to humiliate him at every turn.

Bill Burr's stand-up rage finds a perfect vessel here: Frank's fury is always funny and always sad at once, rooted in real economic squeeze and generational wounds he can't articulate. The show lets him be genuinely terrifying to his kids and genuinely trying underneath it, which is the whole tension worth watching.
