Darren Boyd plays him with such comfortable bonhomie that his usefulness to the plot barely registers as sinister at first — he's the sort of avuncular professional you'd trust on sight. That surface charm is the whole point: Killing Eve keeps using perfectly pleasant men to remind you that pleasantness and trustworthiness are not the same thing.
