Frank Curry

Frank Curry runs the Chicago newspaper where Camille Preaker works, and he is the one who sends her home to Wind Gap to cover the murders of two young girls. Gruff and protective, he pushes her toward the story while clearly fretting over what returning to that town might do to her.

Miguel Sandoval plays him as a boss whose gruffness is really worry wearing a tie. The show could have made Curry a simple career-motivator, but the writing lets his concern for Camille outweigh his interest in the scoop, and Sandoval's phone-call scenes carry a tenderness that grounds the whole story's stakes.
