Francis Poldark

Francis is Ross Poldark's cousin, heir to a struggling Cornish estate and soon-to-be husband of Elizabeth, the woman Ross once loved and left behind. Charming and easy company on the surface, he is anxious underneath — aware he's stepped into a life others expected Ross to have, and not entirely sure he deserves it.

Kyle Soller plays Francis without asking for sympathy or contempt, just the discomfort of a man perpetually standing in someone else's shadow. The writing gives him real cause for insecurity rather than simple weakness, and Soller finds the flickers of decency and self-loathing underneath the good manners, making him far more interesting than 'the other man' in a love triangle usually gets to be.
