Fortune Teller Bot

Fortune Teller Bot is exactly what the name promises: a boxy carnival-style machine dispensing cryptic predictions and canned mysticism to whichever crew member wanders past. Encountered rather than sought out, it speaks in vague pronouncements delivered with the flat confidence of a machine that has no idea whether it's right, and doesn't care.

The joke is the mismatch between the character's tiny stakes and its huge, oracular delivery, and Tress MacNeille plays that mismatch dead straight, giving throwaway nonsense the gravity of prophecy. It's a small piece of world-building that makes Futurama's future feel lived-in: even the fortune-telling machines have attitude.
