Flashnut

Flashnut is one of the many robots populating Futurama's background, a minor presence glimpsed rather than dwelt upon. Introduced without fanfare, he exists mostly to fill out the crowded, mechanized world of New New York, contributing a line or a moment rather than a storyline of his own.

David Herman, one of the show's utility voices, gives even a passing robot like Flashnut a distinct texture rather than generic filler. That's the pleasure of Futurama's dense universe: minor characters get just enough personality in a single line to feel like they have a whole life happening off-screen.
