Flamo

Flamo turns up as one of the many odd faces populating New New York, a small, fire-themed bit player rather than a fixture of the main cast. He exists mostly for a joke or two, the kind of background eccentric Futurama tosses off without slowing down to explain him.

The pleasure here is entirely Maurice LaMarche's, an actor who can make even a one-line oddball sound fully inhabited. Futurama's world is built from exactly these disposable weirdos, and a good voice actor turning a throwaway name into a real, funny presence is part of why the show's margins feel as alive as its center.
