Fire Creature

A being of living flame, encountered rather than introduced, this creature exists as one of the strange life-forms the Planet Express crew stumbles across on their travels. It speaks and reacts with an alien logic all its own, more force of nature than character, there to complicate an episode's plot rather than anchor it.

Futurama's throwaway monsters are often its best jokes, and giving a fire elemental a voice at all is the gag: Maurice LaMarche, a veteran of huge, room-filling voices, brings booming conviction to something that by rights shouldn't be able to talk. It's a small, disposable pleasure typical of the show's background gags.
