Felicity

Felicity Leadbetter — Margo to everyone but her husband — is the Goods' next-door neighbour, married to Jerry and utterly devoted to keeping up appearances in Surbiton. She is proud, snobbish, and endlessly exasperated by Tom and Barbara's self-sufficiency scheme unfolding over the fence, though she can never quite leave them alone.

Moyra Fraser plays her with such crisp comic timing that Margo's snobbery never curdles into cruelty; underneath the disapproving vowels and the horror at pigs next door is real, if grudging, affection. The writing gives her the best put-downs in the show, and Fraser lands every one without ever losing the character's fragile dignity.
