Falafel Salesman

He runs a small falafel stand tucked into the background of New New York, dishing out food and dry commentary to whoever wanders past. He's not a hero or a villain, just a fixture of the city — the kind of vendor who's seen everything the future has to offer and remains thoroughly unimpressed by it.

Futurama built half its world out of exactly this kind of throwaway character, and the Falafel Salesman earns his keep through sheer deadpan economy. David Herman gives him a flat, unbothered delivery that turns a one-line joke into a small comic anchor, the sort of bit player you're quietly glad to see pop back up.
