Fabio Ochoa is the youngest and most easygoing of the Ochoa brothers, cartel royalty in Medellín who prefers parties, horses, and high society to the bloody business decisions of his partners. Charming and photogenic, he treats the drug trade as inherited family enterprise rather than a war, and seems to believe his charisma will keep him above the violence around him.
Roberto Urbina plays him with an easy, sunny confidence that makes him the most likeable face in a cartel full of killers, which is precisely the point — Narcos uses his lightness to show how normalized and social the Medellín elite made an empire built on cocaine and murder feel from the inside.
He, along with his brother Jorge Luis Ochoa Vásquez were wealthy high-profile smugglers in Colombia by the 1970s, but their abundant wealth made them appear soft to other criminals. The brothers joined Pablo Escobar's organization in the mid-1970s along with José Rodríguez Gacha and Carlos Lehder, forming the Medellín cartel.
