Executioner

A recurring background figure in Futurama's futuristic bureaucracy, the Executioner shows up whenever Planet Express runs afoul of the law, ready to carry out sentencing with brisk professional indifference. He treats death and doom as just another day's paperwork, unbothered by the absurdity of whatever crime landed his latest victim in front of him.

The joke is entirely in the mismatch: a role built for menace, played with the flat, courteous efficiency of a DMV clerk. Maurice LaMarche gives him a rich, ominous voice and then undercuts it with total nonchalance, which is funnier than actual menace would ever be. He's a small, reliable dose of Futurama's favorite trick — grand sci-fi dressing wrapped around bone-dry office-drone banality.
