Estelle Winslow

Estelle "Mother" Winslow is Carl's sharp-tongued mother, living under the family roof and missing nothing that happens in it. She dishes out advice nobody asked for, delivers zingers with a straight face, and treats every household squabble as material for her particular brand of blunt, loving commentary.

Rosetta LeNoire plays her with the timing of a stand-up who has been doing this bit for decades, landing lines dry enough to sting and warm enough to forgive. She's the family's ballast — sitcom grandmothers can be treacly, but Estelle's wit keeps her matriarch status earned rather than assumed.
