Ernie "Coach" Tagliaboo

Coach is a personal trainer moving into a New York loft with strangers who quickly become his closest friends. Loud, competitive, and endlessly motivational, he shouts encouragement at people who didn't ask for it, hides real anxiety about dating behind bravado, and throws himself into every group scheme with more enthusiasm than sense.

Damon Wayans Jr. plays the loudest guy in the room as someone secretly terrified of looking foolish in front of women he likes, and that contrast is the joke and the heart of it. His physical energy — the pep talks, the overcorrections, the sudden vulnerability — makes Coach funnier and sweeter than his bluster suggests.
