Erik is a Danish warlord, brother to Sigefrid, and one half of a formidable pairing of raiders pressing into Wessex. He's the counterweight the story needs: a Viking leader defined by restraint rather than spectacle, which makes his moments of decisiveness land harder. Christian Hillborg plays him with a quiet, appraising stillness that suggests intelligence and patience beneath the armor, making Erik feel like the dangerous one precisely because he never has to shout.
