Emmit Stussy

Emmit is the "Parking Lot King of Minnesota," a wealthy, likable businessman who built a real estate empire with his brother Ray. He wears his success comfortably, hosting galas and shaking hands, but underneath the polish is a man nursing an old resentment and a debt he thought was long buried.

Ewan McGregor plays both Stussy brothers, and Emmit is the quieter marvel: a portrait of prosperous self-satisfaction with a flicker of guilt underneath. McGregor lets his affability curdle by degrees, showing how easily a good life can be a story a man tells himself to avoid the truth.
