Elves

In Futurama's dark holiday specials, the Elves serve at the pleasure of Robot Santa, the murderous mechanical Claus who terrorizes New New York every Xmas. Small, chirpy, and unnervingly cheerful given their boss's homicidal tendencies, they function as his cheerful, obedient workforce, embodying the show's gift for twisting cozy iconography into something gleefully sinister.

The joke is in the contrast: adorable little helpers cheerfully assisting an armored killer robot who dispenses lethal judgment based on a naughty-or-nice algorithm. John DiMaggio's vocal work, gruff and gravelly even in a diminutive role, adds a layer of absurdity, letting the Elves land as one more example of Futurama finding comedy in institutional menace dressed up as whimsy.
