Elliott Goss

Elliott is one of Dory's tight little circle of Brooklyn friends, a preening self-promoter forever chasing the next lucrative scheme or magazine profile. He talks a big game about his own suffering and success, most of it invented, and treats the search for a missing acquaintance as mainly an inconvenience to his schedule and an opportunity for attention.

John Early plays vanity as a full-body sport, all darting eyes and vocal flourishes that turn every sentence into a performance for an invisible audience. The writing lets Elliott lie so casually and so often that his dishonesty becomes a kind of comedy rhythm, and Early never lets you catch him blinking.
