Eirene

Eirene is a household slave in the Vorenus family's home, quiet and watchful amid a domestic world she has no power over. She goes about her work with a kind of careful dignity, catching the eye of Titus Pullo, whose rough affection begins to complicate the narrow, contained life she has known.

Rome rarely slows down for its ordinary people, but Eirene gives it a reason to. Mastalli plays her with quiet self-possession rather than passivity, so that her scenes with the blustering Pullo become genuinely tender instead of just comic relief. She's a small, human counterweight to all the politics and slaughter around her.
