Egwene al'Vere

Egwene al'Vere is the Mayor's daughter in the small village of Emond's Field, promised to no particular fate until Moiraine Damodred arrives and upends everything. She's practical, curious, and quietly restless, drawn to the wider world past the Two Rivers even before she has any reason to think she belongs in it.

Madden plays her without a trace of passive damsel energy — Egwene questions Moiraine's authority almost immediately, and that instinct to push back becomes the character's engine. The show uses her as its clearest lens on what it costs a woman to seize power rather than be granted it, and Madden makes that hunger feel earned rather than written-in.
