Eedy Karn is Syril Karn's mother, and she still runs his life from their cramped Coruscant apartment. Sharp-tongued and endlessly disappointed, she needles him about his ruined career, his posture, his prospects, his failures — treating a grown man's humiliations as personal insults to her own standing.
Kathryn Hunter turns a small, almost comic role into something quietly devastating: every line lands like a slap dressed up as concern. Her clipped delivery explains Syril's brittleness without a word of exposition, and she brings a flash of dark humor to a show otherwise thick with dread.
