E-Mail is exactly what the name promises: a small buzzing insectoid creature that flits through the Planet Express offices delivering messages, a sight gag made flesh. It exists purely to zip in, do its one mechanical job, and vanish again, embodying the future's literal-minded take on old internet jargon.

The joke is the design itself — Futurama loves taking a dead metaphor and building a whole tiny life form around it, and E-Mail is one of the purest examples. Maurice LaMarche gives it just enough voice to feel alive without undercutting the gag's economy; it lands, delivers, and gets out before the joke overstays.
