Dwight Enys

Dwight Enys arrives in Cornwall as the new surgeon, young and idealistic in a place that has little patience for either. He treats miners and their families for free when he can barely afford to, driven by a genuine belief that the poor deserve care as much as the gentry. Ross Poldark becomes his friend and ally.

Luke Norris plays him without a trace of smugness, so the character's goodness reads as conviction rather than saintliness. The writing gives him real stakes — money troubles, professional risk, a heart he can't quite govern — and Norris lets you see the cost of decency in a world built on class and compromise.
