Dwight

Dwight first appears as a wary scavenger who ambushes Daryl on the road, stripping him of his crossbow, his bike, and his boots without apology. He travels with a woman named Sherry and a sick companion, and he moves with the flat, exhausted caution of someone who has learned that mercy gets people killed.

Austin Amelio plays him as neither villain nor victim but something colder and sadder: a man who has made peace with doing ugly things to keep the people he loves alive. The show lets his menace sit uneasily alongside real desperation, and Amelio's stillness makes you watch him instead of placing him.
