Dullard

Dullard is one of the background extras drifting through whichever film or TV set Andy Millman finds himself working on, killing time between takes with the same restless chatter and half-baked opinions as everyone else in the holding pen. He wants attention, a laugh, a moment of relevance on a day designed to deny him one.

Steve Speirs plays him with the deadpan confidence of a man convinced his small talk is more interesting than it is, which is exactly the joke Extras keeps making about its extras. He's a texture player rather than a lead, but he fills out the show's world of self-important nobodies with a very specific, recognisable dullness.
