Drew Gardner

Drew is Dory's boyfriend, a nice-enough guy coasting through his twenties in a haze of mild dissatisfaction and vague ambition. He's agreeable to a fault, easily talked into things he'd rather not do, and visibly uneasy the moment Dory becomes obsessed with finding a missing college acquaintance nobody else seems to care about.

John Reynolds plays Drew's spinelessness as something almost endearing before it curdles, all nervous smiles and go-along energy that lets him avoid ever actually deciding anything. The show uses him as a barometer of how absurd things have gotten, and his slow-dawning horror is often the funniest, truest reaction in the room.
