Drew

Drew is one half of the show's central friendship, a seventh grader lurching through puberty alongside his best friend Nick. Awkward, anxious, and newly consumed by hormones he doesn't understand, he's convinced everyone can see exactly how weird he's become, and he's usually right.

Mulaney's clipped, self-deprecating delivery turns ordinary adolescent shame into something painfully funny, and the writing lets him be genuinely gross without losing sympathy. He works because the show refuses to flinch from puberty's ugliness, and Mulaney finds the anxious, apologetic voice underneath it.
