Dragon Ghost

A spectral dragon who drifts into the edges of Futurama's sprawling universe, more apparition than menace. Voiced with theatrical flourish, Dragon Ghost carries himself like a figure out of old legend dropped into a science-fiction sitcom — mysterious, a little grandiose, and never quite explained beyond the moment he appears.

Maurice LaMarche, a voice actor built for outsized characters, gives this passing apparition a booming, ceremonial delivery that makes him funnier than his screen time should allow. Futurama thrives on exactly this kind of one-scene oddity — a joke costume of a character rendered totally sincerely, which is why it lingers after the episode moves on.
