Dr. Zoidberg

Dr. Zoidberg is the Planet Express staff physician, a lobster-like alien whose medical knowledge is questionable at best. He's broke, hungry, socially oblivious, and constantly underfoot, begging for scraps of affection or seafood. He means well, laughs at his own jokes, and seems genuinely baffled that his colleagues find him exhausting.

Billy West gives him a wheezy, gurgling voice that makes every line funnier than it has any right to be, and the writing commits fully to his uselessness rather than softening it. What sells him is the gap between his oblivious self-regard and his actual status: pathetic, broke, unloved, and somehow still delighted with himself.
