Dr. Teeth

Dr. Teeth leads the Electric Mayhem, the shaggy house band on The Muppet Show, from behind a piano and a mouthful of gold. He's grinning, gravel-voiced, decked out in top hat and paisley, and utterly unbothered by chaos — he just wants to keep the groove going and the vibe loose.

He's a joke made of texture: that rasping voice, the psychedelic wardrobe, the sly cool of a bandleader who never breaks a sweat no matter what's collapsing around him. Jim Henson plays him as pure unflappable charisma, a jolt of funk dropped into a variety show, and he's magnetic every second he's on screen.
