Dr. Robert Lashbrook

Robert Lashbrook is a CIA scientist and colleague of Frank Olson, present with him on the trip that becomes the center of the story. He is outwardly mild, professionally deferential, and careful with his words — a company man whose calm exterior gives away nothing about what he actually knows.

Christian Camargo plays him as a man perpetually smoothing things over, and the performance lives in that gap between composure and concealment. Errol Morris's reenactment format lets Camargo work almost entirely through restraint — small hesitations, practiced blandness — so that Lashbrook becomes the show's quiet, unnerving question mark.
