Dr. Katz

Dr. Katz appears as a mild, precise medical expert drawn into the case almost incidentally, brought in to examine the physical evidence on Naz's body. He speaks in the careful, unemotional cadence of a specialist used to being asked for facts rather than opinions, and seems faintly bemused to find himself inside a murder trial at all.

Chip Zien plays him with a dry, almost comic understatement that cuts through the show's tension without breaking it — a small, exacting presence who treats the courtroom like just another consultation room. The writing uses him sparingly, letting his clinical detachment become its own kind of dramatic irony: the driest testimony carrying real stakes.
