Dr. Jerry Robinson

Jerry Robinson is the orthodontist next door, sharing a waiting room and receptionist with psychologist Bob Hartley in their Chicago office suite. Single, wisecracking, and perpetually available for a coffee-break kibitz, he drifts into Bob's office between patients with the easy familiarity of a man who has no urgent crisis of his own to attend to.

The show is built on Bob's deadpan reactions to everyone around him, and Jerry is one of the best sparring partners for it — Peter Bonerz plays him with a loose, needling charm that never tips into obnoxious. He's the friend who shows up uninvited and somehow makes the scene funnier just by leaning in the doorway.
