Dr. Chi Park

Chi Park arrives at Princeton-Plainsboro as one of House's rotating intake of young doctors, blunt to the point of alarming, unbothered by the social niceties that smooth over most hospital conversations. She asks patients uncomfortable questions without flinching, treats awkwardness as irrelevant, and wants simply to be good at medicine on her own terms.

Charlyne Yi plays Park's bluntness completely straight, so lines that would read as jokes on the page land as genuine confusion about why anyone finds her strange. That deadpan commitment makes her a rare thing in the House writers' room: a character whose oddness isn't a variation on House's own, but a flatly different kind of misfit entirely.
