Dr. Cahill

Dr. Cahill is one of Futurama's brisk, briskly incompetent medical professionals, encountered when the Planet Express crew end up needing care they probably shouldn't trust to anyone in this universe. She delivers diagnoses and instructions with total clinical confidence, regardless of whether they make any sense, and treats patients as inconveniences to be processed quickly.

The joke is entirely in the certainty: Tress MacNeille plays her with the flat, unbothered authority of someone who has said something absurd a thousand times and stopped noticing. Futurama's background doctors are a running gag about institutional indifference, and Cahill's clipped delivery makes the bureaucratic nonsense funnier than the actual medical mishap driving the scene.
