Dove Cottage Worker

She works at Dove Cottage, Wordsworth's former home turned tourist site, and finds herself explaining the poet's life to Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as they wander through on their restaurant tour. Polite, informative, faintly bemused, she carries on doing her job while two comedians spar around her.

The joke of The Trip often lives in the gap between the leads' constant performing and the ordinary, unimpressed people they encounter along the way. Rita Davies plays the straight woman with dry, unbothered patience, letting Coogan and Brydon's competitive riffing bounce off someone who isn't remotely interested in being charmed.
