Don Taylor

Don Taylor is Andrea Cornish's stepfather, a smooth, well-dressed money manager who surfaces in the wake of her murder wearing grief like a suit that fits too well. He is solicitous with detectives, protective of appearances, and quick to steer conversation away from anything to do with finances or his late wife's estate.

Paul Sparks plays him with a salesman's warmth that never quite reaches his eyes, so every kind word he offers sounds slightly rehearsed. The show uses him to widen its circle of suspicion without ever tipping its hand, and Sparks makes plausible deniability feel like a personality trait.
