Doingg exists at the edges of Futurama's sprawling universe of one-off aliens and background weirdos, the kind of figure who drifts through a scene without ceremony. Little is fixed about who they are beyond that brief presence — voiced with the same deadpan strangeness the show gives all its incidental oddities.

David Herman's gift on this show is disappearing into small, strange voices that never ask for attention but still land a laugh, and that instinct is what makes even a passing figure like this feel oddly alive. Futurama trusts its margins, and Herman is one of the reasons those margins are worth watching.
