Dodie Mendoza

Dodie Mendoza turns up in Neptune as one of the many faces moving through the edges of Veronica's investigations, part of the town's crowded background of parents, classmates, and locals whose small, ordinary presence still matters to the case at hand. He behaves like someone with nothing special to hide, which is exactly the point.

Veronica Mars built its texture out of exactly this kind of minor role, a face that could turn out to matter or could just be scenery, and it trusted its actors to hold both possibilities at once. Frank Gallegos gives Dodie an unforced, lived-in ordinariness that lets the show's paranoia do its work quietly.
