Documentary Narrator

A booming, faceless voice that turns up whenever Futurama needs a fake documentary, newsreel, or movie trailer narrated. He speaks in the grave, portentous cadence of old nature specials and Cold War instructional films, treating whatever nonsense is on screen — killer robots, mutant hygiene, the deliciousness of Popplers — as solemn historical fact.

Maurice LaMarche builds him entirely out of parody: that resonant, over-serious baritone lifted straight from mid-century broadcast narration, deployed with total sincerity no matter how absurd the subject. The joke is the mismatch, and LaMarche never winks at it, which is exactly why one line from him can turn a whole scene into a punchline.
