He shows up uninvited, mid-episode, to deliver stentorian nature-documentary narration over whatever absurd creature or phenomenon the crew has stumbled into. Deadly serious, self-important, and utterly certain of his own authority, he treats giant mutant ants or talking whales with the same grave reverence a real narrator might give lions on the savanna.

The joke is entirely in the mismatch: a booming, pseudo-Attenborough voice applied to Futurama's nonsense escalates the gag without anyone on screen reacting to it. Billy West plays it perfectly straight, never winking at the audience, which is exactly why the sudden tonal hijack lands as one of the show's most reliable sight-unseen laughs.
