Dina Fox

Dina Fox is the assistant manager at Cloud 9, a rigid enforcer of every rule in the employee handbook who treats floor inspections like military drills. She wants order, respect, and a functioning chain of command in a store that resists all three. Blunt, humorless on the surface, oddly devoted to the animals in the pet department.

Lauren Ash plays Dina's total lack of self-awareness with total commitment, never winking at the audience, which is exactly why the character stays funny instead of turning into a cartoon. The writing keeps finding strange tenderness underneath the discipline — a devotion to fish, to rules, to people who don't want her devotion — and Ash sells the softness as sincerely as the sternness.
