Dina

Dina is a patroller in Jackson, riding out with Ellie on supply runs and infected sweeps. She's quick with a joke, quicker with a rifle, and unbothered by the tension she stirs up between herself and Ellie. Confident, flirtatious, and sharp-eyed, she treats the end of the world with a shrug and a grin.

Isabela Merced gives Dina an ease that's rare in this bleak setting — she's funny without being flippant, tender without softening the character's edges. The writing lets her flirt her way into scenes and then reveal real steel underneath, so she never reads as comic relief. She feels like someone who chose to survive on her own terms.
