Dick Casablancas

Dick Casablancas is one of Neptune High's moneyed 09ers, a surfer-bro sidekick to Logan Echolls who treats other people's feelings as background noise. He's loud, dim, gleefully politically incorrect, and seemingly untroubled by anything deeper than the next party or the next wave. Money has made him careless, and he likes it that way.

He's written as pure comic relief — the guy who says the tasteless thing everyone else is thinking not to say — and Ryan Hansen plays the obliviousness so committedly that Dick becomes funnier than his lines alone deserve. The show later complicates him, but even at the start there's a strange, unguarded honesty under the vanity that keeps him watchable rather than just insufferable.”
