Diana Trout

Diana Trout runs marketing at Empirical Press with the brisk, laser-focused authority of someone who clawed her way up and doesn't intend to slide back down. She sizes up new hire Liza Miller with open suspicion, treats vulnerability as a liability, and guards her territory with sharp one-liners and sharper eyeliner.

Miriam Shor plays Diana as armor first, person second, then slowly lets the person through without ever losing the armor's snap. The writing hands her the show's best withering put-downs, but it's Shor's comic precision and flashes of real loneliness underneath the bravado that make Diana more than an office dragon.
