Detective Wade Tillman / Looking Glass

Wade Tillman is a Tulsa police detective who hides behind a reflective mask and a flat, wary voice, running interrogations with unnerving precision. Off duty he retreats to a bunker stocked against catastrophe, jumpy and solitary, a man who has clearly seen something he never got over and trusts almost no one because of it.

Tim Blake Nelson plays him as a bundle of tics and careful stillness, letting dread leak out from underneath procedural competence. The mask keeps his face unreadable to everyone else in the show while the camera lets us watch every flicker of fear cross it, making him the audience's most legible way into Watchmen's paranoia.
