Detective Shane Vendrell

Shane is Vic Mackey's closest friend and fellow member of the Strike Team, a Farmington cop who runs with a swagger that outpaces his judgment. He's quick with a joke, quicker to throw a punch, loyal to the point of recklessness, and hungry for the same power and payoffs his partner enjoys without always having the discipline to manage them.

Goggins plays Shane as pure nervous energy — charming, insecure, always reading the room for where he stands with Vic. The show uses him as the team's id, the one who acts before thinking, and Goggins finds real pathos in that impulsiveness, making a hothead genuinely sympathetic long before you'd expect to feel for him.
