Detective Robin Griffin

Robin Griffin is a detective visiting her hometown in rural New Zealand, drawn back into its orbit when a twelve-year-old girl is found pregnant and suicidal. Trained in sexual-assault investigation, she pushes into a case the local police would rather bury, moving between old family wounds and a town full of secrets she thought she'd left behind.

Moss plays Robin with a coiled, watchful stillness that never tips into cliché toughness — her authority is quiet, worn down by history rather than performed. The writing lets her competence and her unresolved past sit side by side without explaining one through the other, and Moss makes that tension feel lived-in rather than written.
