Det. Supt. Tony Clark

Tony Clark is a detective superintendent transferred to the Complaints Investigation Bureau, the branch of the police that investigates other police. He is sharp, restless and not entirely comfortable in the role, chasing corruption and misconduct among colleagues while his own private life runs on similarly compromised lines.

Neil Pearson plays him without any halo: Clark is clever and often right, but the show never lets him stand above the mess he investigates, letting his ambition and his tangled personal choices complicate every case. That refusal to separate the investigator from the corruption he's investigating is what gives the character its edge.
